The desired applicant will live in or be willing to relocate to this regionAs a Child Welfare Training Academy Trainer for the Southwest Region you will provide support, direction and coordination for the delivery of new worker and new supervisor foundation training, and as needed, specialized social worker, and foster family training. Consult on development and delivery of social worker, supervisor and foster family curricula content that reflects department policy, state and federal laws and regulations, and best practice standards consistent with the Child Welfare Practice Model and the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) Trainer Competencies
Participate in personal development through the MNCWTA Trainer Academy.
Participate in development and delivery of the MNCWTA Trainer Academy.
Provide MN Child Welfare Foundation Training and New Supervisor Training to county and tribal staff.
Ensure that social worker/supervisor/foster family training delivery is using the latest information on adult learning, transfer of learning theories, meeting MNCWTA Trainer Competencies and are delivered using a variety of training modalities, including technology-based delivery methods.
Provide consultation and subject matter expertise to MNCWTA Curriculum Development and Research and Evaluation Teams.
Collaborate with the Tribes and Counties in the Southwest Region, including a Southwestern County that will provide office space and the Regional Learning Center in Southwest Minnesota.
Minimum Qualifications3 years of experience in a public child welfare agency (county or tribal) providing child protection services directly to children and families. Experience must demonstrate one or more of the following:
Familiarity with federal and state law relating to child protection or child welfare.
Experience providing intake, assessment, investigation, ongoing case management, and/or permanency services to children and families in the child welfare system.
Experience working with BIPOC communities to address issues of equity and disparities within the child welfare system.
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Business Administration or related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experiencePreferred Qualifications
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
A Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Experience using the SSIS System.
Significant work in equity focused training facilitation and development.
