The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) Grant Manager plans, develops, coordinates and administers policy and program development for TEFAP initiatives in the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO). In this position, you will:
Establish program goals and objectives, monitor compliance and evaluate policies and procedures for complex program administration related to programming.
Direct, organize, and manage information sharing, training and technical assistance to build the capacity of partners engaged in hunger and antipoverty efforts that provide services to low-income individuals, youth and families.
Coordinate and manage activities that expand efforts and increase service in MFSP and TEFAP initiatives.
Initiate, build and sustain strategic partnerships essential to carry out the mission of the office and advancing innovative policy and program initiatives to increase economic self-sufficiency.
The position is fully telework, however, some travel is required in order to monitor grantees throughout the state. Typically in the winter there are compliance visits in the metro area. In the summer, outstate travel occurs, sometimes lasting overnight. Travel occurs approximately a couple of times per month. Grants management or program management experience
Strong data and statistical analysis skills
Experience developing forms/templates and manipulating data in Excel in order to analyze data and create reports
Demonstrated program analysis and evaluation experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Highly motivated self-starter, with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge of continuous quality improvement practices in order to coach food and nutrition non- profits and other stakeholders on best practices in the field
Experience in community and stakeholder engagement and in building solid partnerships with stakeholders
Demonstrated cultural competence to effectively interact, build and sustain relationships with people of diverse identities, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds.
A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional experience.ORA Master’s degree in in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the hunger relief sector
Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communications, and ability to establish rapport with a wide range of people across local, state, and federal levels
Ability to interpret, articulate, and present complex technical information to advance solutions through public speaking and grantee and/or stakeholder engagement
Advanced strategic thinking for continuous improvement of programs and systems
Adaptability; ability to adjust approach based on evolving or new information and expectations
Able to balance detailed tasks and implementation with broader strategic thinking and goals
