Accounts Payable Specialist

We are a large commercial glass union contractor with three offices in Northern California, currently seeking a qualified Accounts Payable Specialist to join our stellar team. This role is in our HQ and reports to the CFO. You will be responsible for the following:

You own the AP process

Review, route, and conduct routine data entry management for accounts payable and job cost billing records using construction accounting software.

Ensure the accuracy of financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes.

Ensure invoices match PO's and other internal purchase documents

Maintain payables for Calif Sales Tax and experience with out of state vendors

Maintain meticulous AP records

Direct interface with large and small vendors and reconciliation of vendor statements

Direct interface with all Project Managers internally in multiple offices

You will review invoices, credits and similar documents for accuracy

Process employee expense reimbursements

Process weekly AP check runs and payments

Process new vendor credit applications

Extra points if you have been involved in a new ERP evaluation and implementation.

Education, Experience, and Abilities:

Team player and positive attitude are essential

High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework is preferred.

Minimum three years’ experience with all aspects of Accounts Payable is required.

Minimum one year experience with construction accounting is strongly preferred.

Some experience in payroll is helpful but not required

High level of accuracy and efficiency with data entry into computer software and systems.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, set priorities, identify, and address problems, and meet deadlines.

Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and produce financial data.

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures.
