We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for processing and managing invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records. This is a crucial role within our organization, as it directly impacts our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements to ensure all payments are up to date
- Prepare and process checks for payment
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and receiving, to resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Perform data entry tasks related to accounts payable using QuickBooks
Skills:
Proficiency in QuickBooks software or similar accounting software
- Strong understanding of account payable principles and practices
- Knowledge of governmental accounting or corporate accounting procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient 10-key typing skills
- Basic understanding of technical accounting concepts
- Experience with account reconciliation processes
