POSITION DESCRIPTION

IHI is looking for a mission-driven individual with strong organizational and people skills. This is an entry level position on IHI’s team and a fantastic opportunity to grow and learn from industry experts. This position will be responsible for managing resident-centered relocation (moving residents out of buildings for construction and back in after rehab is complete) to facilitate the redevelopment of affordable housing communities.

Job duties include:

Working in partnership with residents to address their concerns, meet their needs, and support them through a long-term, phased relocation plan.

Implementing all aspects of relocation plans developed by IHI staff and relocation consultants, including providing notices, scheduling/coordinating moves, working with property management to ensure units are move-in ready, coordinating packing of apartment contents by movers or residents, scheduling professional movers, assisting with utilities, and addressing issues as they arise.

Meeting with each resident household and their service provider multiple times to develop a plan that responds to their unique needs and concerns around relocation and working closely with residents to successfully implement that plan.

Communicating regularly with residents about the status of their move, timelines, and expectations.

Collaborating with Resident Service Coordinators, other IHI staff, Property Management personnel, and moving services vendors to meet and address resident needs/concerns.

Working with all IHI’s staff to advance the organization’s mission and goals, support an organizational culture where everyone can bring their full selves to work and thrive, and advance IHI’s work to become an anti-racist organization.

Occasional evening and weekend work required. Flex time is available on the rare occasions when evening and weekend work are necessary.
