Our faculty and staff apply research-based solutions to benefit Colorado and the world. We offer academic programs to prepare students to address national and global crop production, sustainability, and environmental quality challenges such as waste management, water quality, and reclamation of drastically disturbed lands. There are numerous opportunities for students to be involved in cutting edge research related to global food production and ecosystem function and protection.Position SummaryThis position will provide research and outreach support, and supervision in the Agricultural Water Quality Program ( AWQP ) in the Department of Soil and Crop Science at Colorado State University. The AWQP operates throughout the State of Colorado carrying out outreach, applied research, and demonstration related to Agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs) and water quality. All work is done in close collaboration with the agricultural community, The Colorado Department of Agriculture and The Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment. The AWQP focuses on applied research and outreach, providing farmers with timely tools and information to address the State’s water quality and agronomic challenges.A signing bonus of up to $1,500 may be considered for successful candidates. Current CSU employees are not eligible for the signing bonus. Required Job Qualifications
B.S./B.A. degree + 3 years professional experience or master’s degree. Degree(s) in a natural resources, agricultural sciences, engineering, watershed sciences, agricultural economics or other closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated ability and expertise for developing relationships and engaging in activities with varied clientele, communities and stakeholders.
Excellent written, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding attention to detail and experience meeting deadlines
Proficient knowledge and experience in the application of word processing, spreadsheets, and related management and publication software.
Ability to work independently and with the team and creatively to develop new outreach mechanisms.
Adept at problem solving, task prioritization, and time management.
Willingness and ability to seek additional funding via grant opportunities.
Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.
Overnight travel is required
Preferred Job Qualifications
Completed Master’s Degree
Ability to meet the environmental and physical demands of this position which may include seasonal work on agricultural research fields
Experience writing/reviewing communication media including social media, websites, and printed materials
Experience or willingness and ability to learn Outlook, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, and video editing software, ArcGis, Canva
Experience with grant writing
Experience managing deadlines and coordinating personnel for research projects

Occasional field work will be required as needed to assist the team with research and demonstration goals as required
