We are seeking Kitchen Shift Managers. In this role, you will work as a Line Cook in addition to having a few extra responsibilities to help manage the restaurant. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to order while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will work alongside other kitchen staff to ensure dishes are made with quality and efficiency, adhering to food safety and cleanliness standards. We have a focus on using high quality ingredients, that are locally sourced and organic whenever possible, and looking for team members who are interested in learning more about the sourcing of our produce and other goods.
As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for insuring others are following proper food safety and sanitation procedures, training staff making sure they follow restaurant procedures, knowing menu for common dietary restrictions in order to best accommodate guest requests, handling communication between front and back of house, helping take inventory using our restaurant management software, upload invoices to restaurant management software, and you may be asked to assist with occasional ordering.

Key Responsibilities:
Training staff: ensure staff are following food safety guidelines and restaurant policy and procedures
Menu knowledge: As we change our menu seasonally, familiarize yourself with new recipes for cooking methods and ingredients to communicate them to other staff
Expediting: if there is no one working as food expediter food quality and presentation fall to you, as well as being the voice between the front and back of house
Inventory Assistance: Take in orders, checking back invoice to goods received, then you are responsible for uploading invoices to restaurant management software. Once a Month you will be asked to assist in taking food inventory using our restaurant management software
Ordering Assistance: If the chef/kitchen manager is ever out of town or sick you may be asked to submit an occasional order
Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Cook and Plate Dishes: Operate kitchen equipment (grill, oven, stovetop, etc.) to prepare and cook dishes. Ensure each plate is consistent with presentation standards.
Station Management: Take ownership of assigned cooking station, ensuring it’s stocked, clean, and organized throughout the shift.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, portioning, and plating.
Time Management: Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other cooks, kitchen staff, and servers to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Food Safety and Hygiene: Follow food safety guidelines and maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Adaptability: Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, or modifications from guests.
Menu Development: always open for input on our seasonal menu changes or if you have ideas for ways to increase productivity in the kitchen, management is happy to hear them
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous line cook experience preferred but not required.
Skills: Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely (e.g., grills, fryers, stoves, etc.) and work quickly under pressure.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen workflow.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Strong communication skills to work effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff.
Work Ethic: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to take constructive feedback.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00/hour
