Store: Cafe Buttery
Location: Stanford Clark Center, Stanford Campus
Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced member to join our team at the Cafe Buttery located in the Stanford Clark Center. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in catering food preparation, sandwich making, and barista duties, preferably within the Stanford campus environment. This role will involve providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving high-quality food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the cafe, and ensuring a smooth operation during peak hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of catering food items, sandwiches, salads, and beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate coffee machines and other cafe equipment efficiently to prepare barista drinks such as espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty coffee beverages.
- Ensure food and beverage presentation is visually appealing and meets customer expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the cafe, including food preparation areas, serving counters, dining tables, and customer seating areas.
- Monitor and replenish food and beverage supplies to ensure availability during operating hours.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, handle customer inquiries, and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
- Follow proper food safety and hygiene procedures at all times, including storage, handling, and disposal of food items.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sales targets and ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking inventory, and rotating perishable items as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience in food service, catering, or hospitality industry required.
-Proven experience in preparing catering food, sandwich making, and barista duties.
-Familiarity with operating coffee machines and other cafe equipment.
-Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse clientele.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask during peak hours.
-Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
-Availability to work Monday to Friday, with flexibility for occasional overtime or schedule adjustments as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Prior experience working on the Stanford campus or within a university setting.
-Food handling certification or training.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the role.
