Kitchen Manager - Mioposto Pizzaria (Eastlake)

At Mioposto, we embrace the art of open-flame cooking to deliver bold, hand-crafted flavors that leave a lasting impression. We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our team of talented cooks at our brand-new location: Eastlake. We anticipate the restaurant will open August 4th, but are hoping to begin training mid-July. Most of our cooks speak Spanish, so conversational cooking Spanish is needed, but fluency is a major plus! This is a production KM role, working all positions of the line throughout the week including prep with minimal admin. (Please no chefs! There is no recipe creation as part of this job- it is high-volume execution of recipes that are the same at all Miopostos and we need a candidate who can work hard, have incredible output, and train their team to do the same.) An ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of cooking experience and 2+ years of management experience.

Salary range: $78k + Bonus.

Areas of Accountability

Food Production & Quality Control

- Oversees food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure consistency and quality.

- Monitor portion sizes, presentation, and taste of dishes.

- Ensure that menu items follow standardized recipes and meet quality standards.

- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Inventory Management

- Maintain accurate inventory records and ordering systems.

- Monitor inventory levels and manage the weekly ordering process.

- Complete EOP inventory and input counts into R365.

- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh and high-quality ingredients.

Health & Safety Compliance

- Enforce health and safety standards, including sanitation, hygiene, and food handling procedures.

- Maintain daily temp logs to ensure compliance with local health regulations.

- Train staff on proper food safety practices and emergency procedures.

- Maintains Great or Excellent rating with Health Department. Ensures Health Department compliance alongside the GM.

Equipment Maintenance

- Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly maintained and serviced.

- Schedule routine maintenance and repairs as needed.

- Train staff on the safe and effective use of kitchen equipment.

People Management - Employee Relations

- Serves as a role model and sets a positive example for all employees.

- Understands directives communicated by GM, Regional and Executives, and is able to effectively communicate with them in return, as well as train and mentor their staff.

- Ensures professional restaurant and team image through strict adherence to restaurant cleanliness and appearance standards. Embody professionalism and enforce the dress code with staff.

- Embodies managerial and leadership skills as they compassionately train, coach, mentor and discipline their team members (with the support of the GM where necessary).

- Supports GM and HR with staffing and hiring- screens resumes, conducts interviews, and provides a thorough onboarding experience.

- Checks company email daily, (during work week), and responds to requests within 48 hours.

- Consistently reinforce and embody Sound Restaurant Family company values.

Drives Results and Adapts

- Manage kitchen expenses and labor costs within budgetary constraints.

- Provides guidance and corrective action on labor, food, and other controllable measures each period.

- Quickly adapts to new policies, procedures and systems rollouts with the support of above store leadership. Has high change agility and leads change with positivity. Actively participates in the training of staff and implementing changes as needed.

- Writes schedules for BOH and adjusts as needed to meet business levels. Posts schedule on scheduling platform; minimum 2 weeks posted at any given time.
