Our opening: We are in search of an experienced Accounting Specialist. This is a unique accounting position as we’re looking for a teammate who is willing and excited to learn our product line and systems, roll up their sleeves, and assist customers alongside the team, in addition to accounting responsibilities. We take pride that our customers believe we provide some of the best customer service of any company they deal with: we are knowledgeable, articulate, and helpful – this always comes first to us!
This position will work a consistent 40 hours per week onsite with desirable workday hours in a bright and open work environment in our SoDo location (with free parking and easy freeway access).
Accounting and payroll responsibilities:
- Assist in daily, monthly and annual financial input and analysis.
- Perform month-end journal entries and reconciliations; help prepare month-end and year-end financial statements.
- Handle A/P responsibilities, to include daily/monthly reports and transactions as well as other AP-related duties and payroll.
- Manage cash receipts and balances, as well as credit card processing within our ordering system.
- Generate various reports as needed.
Customer service responsibilities:
- Assist customers from around North America with orders, returns and product questions.
- Build relationships with our customers and teammates.
- Inspire teamwork and complete activities on time and accurately.
- Ensure the privacy of customer information.
- Become a skilled user in our order entry/fulfillment software system.
Qualifications:
- Must currently be based in the local area within a commutable distance to the Seattle (SoDo) office
- Experience in specialized retail sales, customer service, or front desk requiring high-touch hospitality
- Must have 3+ years’ Accounts Payable or general accounting experience, with some experience working within a small business environment
- Previous accounting educational coursework is required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a plus
- Clear communication and excellent interpersonal skills; a strong relationship builder
- A fanatic about providing excellent customer service and product solutions for our customers; sees themselves as an ambassador of our brand
- Proficient computer skills, to include Excel and familiarity with customer service applications; demonstrated ability to learn new systems and train teammates
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic; focused on getting the job done, and done right
Compensation Package:
Competitive Pay: Earn between $25 to $30 per hour, commensurate with your experience
