JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESSalary Management

Provides systematic review of all fund groups to ensure that effort and expense are properly charged to the project to which faculty, educational and classified positions are assigned.

Ensure that effort starts and stops as close to the project initiation and completion process as possible, guaranteeing that the department and its principal investigators are compliant with the procedures for effort and expense.

Submit and track ePAF entries as needed to ensure that faculty members and staff are appropriately allocated to the correct fund/project.

Establish a process to effectively ensure that new projects have had faculty and classified salaries budgeted.

Prepare and enter salary adjustments for faculty, trainees and classified staff into appropriate systems.

Finance Administration

Prepare and submit expense transfers.

Identify encumbrances and clear encumbrances when needed on all chartfields within the department.

Request invoices as needed for sponsored projects and follow up to ensure payments have posted.

Request expired chartfields to be inactivated.

Prepare check requests.

CAT maintenance -update authorized signers, receivers, and reconcilers, and request steward changes as needed to maintain accuracy.

Submit new fund requests and/or fund transfers as needed.

Prepare Close-Out forms for Federal and non-Federal projects.

Account Reconciliation

Perform reconciliation for fund group 90 accounts to ensure that non personnel expenses have accurately posted to the General Ledger.

Coordinate with grant team to verify accuracy and if charges are allowable with reconcilers within the department as needed to complete and manage STAT sampling.

Interacts with all levels of personnel within the department, other institutional departments, as well as outside companies to resolve problems/errors or questions regarding basic accounting reconciliation items.

Procard reconciliation

Invoicing

Process IDSs for CCSG lab cores i.e. Histology Core, Tissue Bank, and ORION by entering charges on General Accounting upload form at the end of every period and following up to verify posting accuracy. Prepare monthly activity summary reports.

Run Free Balance Reports and other ad-hoc reports as requested.

Other duties as assignedBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related. One year of experience required with degree in Business Administration or related field. With a degree in Accounting, no experience is required. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
