Description Robert Half currently has an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk with a company in the logistics field. As the Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk, you will have the opportunity to become an integral part of a company and very busy team. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in office in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area and will be a long-term contract / contract to hire position. Further career growth and quick advancement is possible in this dynamic department. The Accounts Payable Clerk responsibilities will include matching and batching code invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks.What you get to do every day
Handle the daily and administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department
Execute full-cycle A/P
Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time
Provide support during internal and external audits
Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners
Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them
Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling
Requirements
Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Exception Reports experience
Payable Invoices experience required
Adeptness in general ledger and ledger coding
Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
