THE POSITIONAre you looking for a new challenge that will give you the opportunity to advance your career? This staff position with the Department of Labor & Industry is responsible for the performance of financial workforce services within established work procedures and guidelines for the Bureau's daily operations in the areas of contract procurement and accounts payable. If you are interested in budget and fiscal related work, this is the job for you!DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe Fiscal Technician exercises independent judgments on a daily basis to effectively execute Bureau, Agency and Pennsylvania CareerLink (PACL) procurement and fiscal policies and procedures, and provides recommendations to management with respect to procurement. These responsibilities require daily contact with customers/partners, including commercial vendors, as well as regular contact with Comptroller staff, Pennsylvania PACL administrators, Bureau regional offices and staff and within administrative areas of Labor & Industry. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Excel, procurement processes including purchase orders, statements of work, contracts, and vendor outreach.Additional duties include:

Maintaining effective working relationships.

Maintaining knowledge of applicable laws and policies.

Maintaining knowledge of accounting principles and methods.

Analyzing technical information.

Submitting accurate and complete reports.

Communicating clearly and concisely.

Operating computer (MS products, internet, SAP, etc.).

Filing correspondence and source documents.

Establishing priorities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment.

Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, with one day a month in the office for predetermined in-person bureau/unit meetings or training and other reasons as operationally necessary after the successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the home base office at the Labor & Industry Building at 651 Boas Street, Harrisburg, PA.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Fiscal Assistant or

Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school;or

One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration;or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
