THE POSITIONAre you skilled in utility relocation and seeking a fresh and exciting opportunity? The Department of Transportation is currently in search of a Utility Relocation Technician who can offer their expertise and support for utility relocation tasks of varying complexity. DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position you will provide technical guidance for Department sponsored and locally sponsored projects. Provides assistance and support for moderate to higher level complexity projects. You will maintain direct contact with utility companies through utility clearance, letting, award, and construction to ensure required utility relocations are completed and milestones are met. You will also attend project scoping's as assigned, to provide comment and insight on potential utility impacts and level of effort required to coordinate utilities. You will offer input to Project Managers in completing Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Evaluation and in determining the need for higher levels of utility investigation. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on Mondays and Fridays. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clearfield.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Engineering Technician performing utility relocation work; or

One year of technical utility relocation work experience and an associate’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or in a design and drafting technology; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of technical experience performing utility relocation work.
