This includes protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe, and helping find cures for cancer.How will you make an impact?The Government Contracts Manager supports for the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) within Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a member of CAD's contracts team, this individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage the contract lifecycle and compliance programs for federal and state government contracts and related subcontracts transactions related to the sale of products and services to various customers (including resellers and sales representatives) globally.What will you do?

Review, negotiate and administer government related contracts on behalf of assigned CAD BUs in accordance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

Support RFP, RFQ, and RFI response development and submissions.

Collaborate with internal departments to review various documentation such as legal language, scope of work, compensation, payment schedule, and discount schedule, as well as assembly of the final contract package for each customer, supplier and/or project.

Assess contractual risk and provide contract guidance to cross functional team members for legal, financial, regulatory, and other business concerns.

Administer CAD’s federal General Services Administration (GSA) and state level contract schedules, including without limitation, price updates, audits, reports, and payments.

Participate or lead process improvement projects to drive operational efficiencies and standardization such as establishing templates, standardizing playbooks, process updates, etc.

Act as liaison between the government contracting officer and the business on a variety of subjects.

Maintain complete and accurate records within the contracts team’s central repository and contract support center.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

How will you get here?Education:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Experience and Knowledge:

Minimum 5+ years of government contracts experience required including leading contract award negotiations, contract closeout, and pre and post RFP activities.

Advanced knowledge of federal and state contracting processes.

Knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Outstanding interpersonal skills to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external collaborators at all levels of leadership and with applicable government officials.

Strong analytical and organizational skills to respond effectively to issues in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment and manage constantly evolving priorities.

Customer focused team player who demonstrates sound judgment, work ethic, and professional integrity with exceptional attention to detail.

Advanced MS Office or Office 365 skills.

Salesforce experience is a plus.
