We are filling positions for multiple Legal Supervisors.
Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Legal Supervisors at our Migrant Legal-Aid site in Brooklyn, NYC. Legal Supervisors will be responsible for providing supervision and support to legal staff, conducting case reviews, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services to migrants. Multi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply to facilitate communication with our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support legal staff in providing assistance to migrants.
Conduct training sessions and workshops for legal team members.
Review case files and provide guidance on legal strategies and approaches.
Serve as a point of contact for staff inquiries and escalations.
Collaborate with the Head of Adjudication to ensure consistency and quality in legal services.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law, legal supervision, or a related field.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Multi-lingual proficiency preferred. Please note, the primary languages preferred for bi-lingual or multi-lingual representatives are Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian, and Wolof.
