About the Role:

Our client (a large interdealer broker of commodity and financial products) is currently looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Fixed Income Settlement Associate to join their growing team.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely settlement of municipal bond trades while supporting our fixed income trading and back-office operations. You’ll play a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance and helping maintain smooth operational workflows.

What You’ll Do:

Process and settle municipal bond trades with a focus on accuracy and timeliness (T+1).

Reconcile trade discrepancies with brokers, custodians, and internal systems.

Monitor and resolve trade fails, mismatches, and other settlement exceptions.

Work closely with traders and counterparties to confirm and match trade details.

Manage proper allocation and delivery of securities through DTCC, Fedwire, and other systems.

Maintain organized and compliant trade records for audits and regulatory reviews.

Generate daily reconciliation reports and support monthly/annual close processes.

Stay current on industry regulations (MSRB, FINRA/TRACE) to ensure ongoing compliance.

Education:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (preferred).

4–5 years of experience in fixed income or municipal bond settlements.

Hands-on experience with DTCC, NSCC, Fedwire, and Euroclear.

Strong working knowledge of T+1 and T+2 settlement cycles.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Bloomberg or OMS/settlement systems is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with MSRB rules and TRACE reporting.

Experience using trade matching platforms such as CTM.
