Our organization is seeking an R&D Technician to support our Albuquerque, NM location. We will consider candidates who are in the earlier stages of their career and would like to build a long-term relationship with our well-established company.
YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
Setup and perform experiments and data collection using electronic test and measurement equipment
Build prototypes and unique electronic and mechanical assemblies
Perform soldering and other assembly operations on specialized electronics equipment and cables
Build, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
Work under the guidance and mentoring of experienced technical staff and learn new skills
Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other technicians
Assist in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various mechanical systems
Moderate lifting up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodations on ladders or using heavy lift equipment as required
YOU MUST HAVE:
Vocational a training certificate or Associate’s Degree in a related STEM discipline or Military equivalent
2+ years’ technician experience in an engineering or R&D lab, field service, or related field
Experience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, etc.)
U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
WE VALUE:
Ability to work from assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, sketches and other written, visual and oral instructions
Strong RF, digital and analog troubleshooting skills
Experience with LabVIEW and/or Python
Experience with lasers, optics, and cryogenic systems and ultra-high vacuum systems
CAD experience, mechanical, and circuit simulation software
Machine tool experience (mill and lathe)
