Job Description

Skills and Abilities:

Solid experience in the assembly, testing and quality control/inspection of electronic prototypes and systems commensurate with the specific job duties as detailed.

Set up of electronics testing and analysis of test data

Experience to draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications

Good motor skills and the ability to do fine assembly

Ability to check for defects and identify and distinguish between colors

Experience in a start-up or pilot production environment

Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Ability to read and carefully follow instructions

Excellent attention to detail and good organization

Capable of working independently to a production schedule

Being on time, being prepared, working as a team, meeting schedules and budgets, employing good planning practices, and employing good problems solving techniques

Competencies:

High school diploma or GED and on-the-job training

Responsibilities:

Build and Test Assemblies

Apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry

Fabricate electrical cables, troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical equipment on trainers, hydraulic control systems, and panels/instruments.

Design and fabricate electrical and mechanical equipment.

Identify Problems and Suggest Improvements

Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve problems

Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems

Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment

Inspect and Test Finished Products

Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations.

Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.

Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.

Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.

Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.

Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound engineering practice and conformance, with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.

Other duties as assigned.

Anticipated Pay: $20 - $24/hr. DOE
