The Position The Senior Director, Enterprise Functions Insights Lead is responsible for leading the generation, integration and translation of insights and analytics into growth opportunities that shape decisions and drive organizational action and guide the strategy development and execution for CMR Insights, Patient Insights, and Enterprise Functions Insights (e.g. Finance & Supply Chain, People & Organization, Legal, Compliance, etc.). This person is the focal point for CMR and all Enterprise Functions, providing, holistic, insight-driven consultation and evidence-based strategic and tactical guidance to senior levels across the enterprise. Additionally, this role is responsible for integrating insights and analytics, while partnering with other Enterprise Insights team Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics function and translating into business impact. Relationships Reports to the VP, Enterprise Insights with direct management responsibility for developing, leading and managing the team, while cultivating internal and external relationships that bring value and insights to the organization. Internal relationships include close interactions with NNI CMR, enterprise function teams), global insights and analytics teams, and other Finance, Insights and Enterprise solutions functions (Finance/Forecasting/Patient Support Solutions/Supply Chain/IT). External relationships include interactions with professional services, secondary data vendors and consultants. Essential Functions

Analysis and interpretation:

Ensures alignment of initiatives to the company’s overall business objectives and strategic imperatives

Collaboration & communication:

Develop and sustain close working relationships with key stakeholders including CMR, Enterprise Functions, Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics function and global insights and analytics, as well as other departments within NNI and global as needed

Establish strategic partnerships across Enterprise Insights, Enterprise Data & Advanced and other NNI and Global data and analytics organizations, with the intent to build interconnectivity and unified insights across NNI

Ensure clear and ongoing communication of research results, key conclusions, and recommendations through formal and informal channels

Foster a patient and customer first mindset

Leadership and development:

Support the assessment and development of new processes and techniques to advance market research and analytics capabilities across payor/provider

Champion the Triple Bottom Line in Market Research, analytics and internal strategy consulting

Lead the development of innovative solutions to unstructured, complex problems; Implement changes that have a significant impact on company (time, people, budget) resources and potentially affect the company’s ability to achieve its goals

Pro-actively seek out improvement and innovative opportunities by challenging the status quo, proposing solutions, and driving approved implementation plans

Leadership and strategic business partnership:

Serve as a key advisor to the Leadership Teams of CMR and Enterprise Functions to ensure the development of their strategic plans are based on informed data (and market dynamics where applicable)

Partner with CMR and Enterprise Functions Leadership in the development of the strategic vision across the enterprise

Lead the partnership with Finance in the development of near term and long-term forecast

Ensures NNI and Global alignment on the development of Enterprise Functions’ strategies through joint generation of customer and market insights

Insights and analytics:

Oversee the development of holistic and comprehensive market assessments and oversee other ad hoc analyses to proactively address issues in support of business objectives

Acts as primary focal point for Enterprise Function insight-driven strategic consultation

Set direction to enable the development and implementation of the insights and analytical plans which include market research and integrated analytics (national and sub-national) across patient, physician and partnering on payor / provider customers

Champion the implementation of agile, innovative and/or best practice market research and analytics tools, methods and approaches in order to increase timeliness, improve agility, and build competitive advantage

Demonstrate leadership in insight democratization

Leads the ongoing, proactive evaluation of market situation and changes to make relevant recommendations to CMR, Enterprise Functions and other parts of the organization

Defines priorities and Manages expectations across CMR and Enterprise Function stakeholders

Proactively identifies areas of opportunity to drive agility and competitive advantage

Advocate with other Enterprise Insights Data & Analytics team members to broaden application of advanced data sciences, exploration of new methodologies, and pilot new insight sources with department partners including Data & Analytics Strategy, Strategic Market Intelligence, Commercial I&A, and Advanced Analytics

Business unit insights & analytics leadership:

Anticipates company needs for evidence-based decision support and ensures that the group possess the resources, skill sets and vision to fully address these needs

Proactively educates, shares information and acts as an experienced resource and strategic partner

Team leadership:

Actively participates as a member of the Enterprise Insights Leadership team in shaping strategy and culture and driving the vision of the department

Directs and monitors team budget, both functional and business-specific, and ensures that resources are appropriately allocated, and quality of services are maintained while costs remain on track according to plan

Establishes the optimal structure allowing for individual growth and leadership opportunity within the function

Empower team to act with speed, agility, and accountability, while fostering a business mind set, business acumen and foresight

Prioritize the ongoing development of the team with a strong focus on providing support for individuals to grow skillsets and expand into new experiences

Physical Requirements

10-20% overnight travel required.

Development of People

Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

Qualifications

A Bachelor 's degree with at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience in marketing, sales, business analytics, or pharmaceutical consulting required, or an MBA with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience required

Experience in leading enterprise functions’ insights experience preferred

Minimum of five (5) years of management experience required

Comfort operating in a fast-paced, environment, with a quality control focus and a documentation orientation

Innate intellectual curiosity, demonstrated desire to take initiative, and ability to think creatively to solve complex problems

Ability to effectively integrate and communicate insights to Senior Management teams, synthesize complex information, making it relevant, understandable and actionable for internal stakeholders

Persuasive and credible communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated capability to partner with cross functional colleagues

Ability to effectively plan, prioritize and follow through in a timely manner as well as anticipate potential roadblocks

Proven ability to effectively operate, collaborate and influence cross-functionally. Proven record of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to understand and anticipate stakeholder needs and expectations

Demonstrated ability to provide structure to ambiguous situations and to proactively identify and define the need for specific analyses and programs, as well as driving foresight

General management mind set, business acumen and strategic thinking required

Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative analysis skills required

Strong innovation and adaptability; must be able to identify better ways of doing things and getting others excited about improved methods and procedures

Proven analytical skills and learning agility to coach and train colleagues across multiple functions required
