The Position Lead NNI’s Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics organization, responsible for driving the strategic vision for the maturity of NNI’s data and predictive analytics capabilities. Play a critical role in enabling data-driven insights through data, analytics, and AI/GenAI solutions, establishing strong AI capabilities that unlock value for the enterprise. Partner with functions across the enterprise and globally to drive innovation and transformation within the company, in coordination with the Enterprise Insights lead those interfaces with business functions and Therapeutic Areas, for delivery of unified enterprise insights. Relationships Reports directly to the SVP, Finance, Insights and Enterprise Solutions. Reporting into this position is the Advanced Analytics Lead, Rapid Analytics Lead, Data Strategy & Management Lead, Dedicated Dashboard Lead and Strategic Advisor. Collaborate on an ongoing basis with the VP, Enterprise Insights, as well as with Data Science and Advanced Analytics functions globally (e.g. R&D, Clinical, Medical & Regulatory, Finance, Commercial, etc.), in order to effectively increase maturity of Artificial Intelligence (AI & Generative AI) and other advanced analytics capabilities, drive change management and establish a robust Enterprise Insights, Data and Advanced Analytics capability at Novo Nordisk North America (NNI). Serves as key advisor to the Executive Team on a routine basis, as well as leadership teams and all levels of the business, both locally and globally regarding data and advanced analytics development & consumption. External relationships include interaction with various vendors and consultants based on the needs of special projects or implementation of new programs. Essential Functions

Oversee the development and execution of the strategic vision for data and advanced analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals

Assess and implement advanced analytics technologies, platforms, and infrastructure to support the company's evolving data and analytics needs, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency

Oversee data dashboard & reporting, data governance and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards specific to pharmaceutical data, patient privacy, and healthcare analytics

Collaborate with Enterprise Insights Lead and Business Partners to incorporate their unique needs into the strategic roadmap, overseeing the process and ensuring effective integration

Identify emerging data & advanced analytics capabilities, best practices and providing guidance on implementation strategies

Lead efforts to leverage data-driven insights to drive innovation and transformation within the company providing guidance and strategic direction

Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, holding teams accountable for promoting innovation experimentation and adoption while providing guidance and support

Drive the development and implementation of advanced analytics capabilities, leveraging machine learning, predictive modeling, and data visualization to generate the actionable data & insights from the central organization to provide scale and speed to the functions and therapeutic areas

Enable collaboration across Enterprise Insights, Data and Advanced Analytics teams and the Enterprise Insights Business Leads team that interfaces with the functions and TAs to ensure the successful implementation of data and advanced analytics initiatives across NNI

Build and develop a high-performing data and advanced analytics team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's capabilities

Physical Requirements

15-20% overnight travel required.

Development of People

Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

Qualifications

Master's or doctoral degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field required. MBA preferred

Demonstrated business acumen, ability to work with senior management and serve as an active participant of the senior leadership team

At least 12 years progressive leadership experience in data analytics, business analysis and services experience related to the life science industry

Strong leadership in managing and inspiring a high-performing team and building relationships across the organization

Prior leadership experience required - Ability to lead, motivate, inspire and manage large teams (40+); Proven ability to hold people accountable for results

Proven track record of driving data-driven decision-making, innovation & achieving results

Demonstrated deep technical expertise on data & advanced analytics and regulatory considerations. Proven success in leading large data & analytics transformations / change initiatives and implementing projects that drive value

Demonstrate good understanding of the Life Sciences industry to effectively communicate with senior business stakeholders and translate needs into data & analytics strategy within domain context

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with clear ability to impact and influence without authority
