Avant-Garde Design Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking to hire an experienced UPHOLSTERY SHOP MANAGER/TECHNICIAN with 10 plus year’s experience to create and repair upholstery, custom manufacturing in seating and case goods for our clients.
OUR CLIENT LIST INCLUDES:
a) MAJOR LAS VEGAS HOTEL AND CASINOS: Furniture Upholstery and Refinishing Accounts,
b) LOCAL AND REGIONAL UPHOLSTERY AND REFINISHING BUSINESS ACCOUNTS: such as Restaurants, Night Clubs, etc.
c) RESIDENTIAL ACCOUNTS: Homes, High Rise Condos, etc.
IN THIS MANAGER’S ROLE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
1) EMINENT UPHOLSTERY KNOWLEDGE: As the Upholstery Manager, the applicant must possess a) in-depth knowledge of modern upholstery techniques; b) have a good eye for detail, and the c) the ability to visualize design ideas. D) A top-class Upholsterer should translate his/her ideas of the client into high-quality furnishings.
2) MANAGE DAY TO DAY UPHOLSTERY AND REFINISHING SHOP OPERATIONS: Which includes the daily delegation of assignments to shop workers, under your control and the direction of business owner,
3) RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING WITH EXISTING AND NEW CLIENTS FOR JOB SITE ESTIMATION QUOTES: As the Upholstery Manager, you are responsible for meeting our existing or prospective client (s), or their design agent (s), for the selection process of appropriate materials for the job, which includes installation, to meet the desired specifications.
4) DISASSEMBLY: You may also be required to dismantle and rebuild furniture in which the upholstery is to be replaced.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven work experience as a shop manager and upholsterer
Collaborate with designers or clients to select appropriate fabrics or materials
Detail-oriented with excellent craftsman’s skills
Ability to draw and interpret design templates
Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing techniques
Good physical stamina and manual dexterity is a must
Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day.
Pay: Depending On Experience
Expected hours: 40 plus hours per week, which may include weekends
Ability to relocate, [if currently residing out of Las Vegas] (Required)
