Position Title: Co Shop Foreman/ Quality Control

Reports to: Project Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Milo Live is a premier design and manufacturing company of quality and innovative live fire Modular Containerized Small Arms Training Sets (MCSATS® /RR), Modular Shooting Ranges, brick and mortar ranges, shooting range equipment, and HVAC supply. We have been directly involved with the design, manufacture, and installation of equipment of over 120 modular shooting range systems and over 500 different brick and mortar ranges. Shooting Range Industries has an in-house HVAC company as part of our service which promotes our extensive background in metal fabrication, HVAC design and installation. SRI has the skills, experience, and background to design and build custom, convenient products to meet all of our customer’s needs.

A shop foreman usually works in a shop or warehouse environment. This incumbent is responsible for hiring interviews and training employees, monitors work activity, orders supplies, fixes equipment, and enforces rules and regulations associated with the job site.

Quality control inspectors check the quality of incoming and outgoing materials or products for a company, as well as the production procedures. This job involves tasks such as running tests, keeping a record of defects, analyzing products, and overseeing procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Shop Foreman/Quality Control

Recruits and hires new shop employees.

Provides employee training.

Creates and manages employee schedule.

Oversees daily work of employees.

Warns, disciplines, or terminates employees not working to company standards.

Greets customers who enter the shop.

Processes customer and client work orders.

Enters customer and job information into computer database.

Maintains work records and files. Assigns duties to shop workers.

Assists in repair, construction, maintenance, or other tasks involved in client work orders.

Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards.

Enforces all health and safety policies in the shop.

Ensures that all deadlines are met.

Assists employees in on-site health or safety emergencies.

Addresses and resolves customer issues and complaints.

Inspects and cleans shop equipment.

Fixes equipment and machinery as necessary.

Orders supplies.

Operates shop machinery such as forklifts or manufacturing equipment.

Reads blueprints and specifications.

Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards.

Inspect, test, or measure materials.

Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.

Sets a follow through on goal planning, and time management.

Ensures Leads are planning and scheduling their teams to meet company goals and project delivery dates.

Conducts safety meetings.

Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.

Supports Production Supervisor and Production manager to achieve customer delivery goals.

Shop size is 40-50 and growing. 90,000 sq. ft. space.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Warehouse, factory, or shop experience required.

Managerial or supervisory experience required.

Must have technical experience in either welding, sheet metal, fabrication, or electrical of at least 4 years or a Journeyman level.

Work Environment

The majority of working hours will be spent in the job participating in and overseeing manufacturing.

Shift is typically day.

Overtime and some travel would be required.

Weekend hours will be required on occasion.

Standard 40–50-hour work week applies, though overtime may be necessary.

Some areas of the job site may be hazardous so protective gear should be worn when appropriate.
