Job DescriptionThis position functions as the manager of the Data Operations and Integrity Unit. This position is responsible for overseeing the creation, implementation, maintenance and updating of division-wide IT system, infrastructure and data collection, analysis and reporting standards, policies, and procedures. This includes coordination and collaboration with the Information Technology Division (ITD), Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) and sections and other program areas within the division. This position will oversee the division’s quality assurance and control measures, testing procedures, data visualization tools, and data collection methods to ensure accuracy and integrity of data. This position will also oversee the analysis of the department’s traffic stop data and other enforcement member metrics; both those efforts conducted by external partners, such as the Michigan State University and internal projects. This position is responsible for supervising the staff and the functions associated with the area of responsibility; assuring adequate software and hardware are available to support the tasks expected to be performed; assuring adequate policies and procedures are in place for the tasks expected to be performed; providing appropriate reports to management regarding the area of responsibility; and responding to issues regarding the areas of responsibility. This position will function as a first-line manager of professional positions in a complex area.
