Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, providing assistance and guidance as needed.

Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently.

Register patients into the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.

Insurance Verification:

Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients, including obtaining pre-authorizations and referrals as required.

Communicate with insurance companies and third-party payers to obtain necessary authorizations and resolve coverage issues.

Educate patients on their insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and financial responsibilities.

Financial Counseling:

Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities, including co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.

Provide information on available financial assistance programs, payment options, and resources for uninsured or underinsured patients.

Work collaboratively with billing and financial services staff to address patient concerns and resolve billing inquiries.

Appointment Scheduling:

Schedule patient appointments, procedures, and referrals accurately and efficiently, utilizing scheduling software or electronic systems.

Coordinate scheduling with other departments or providers to optimize patient flow and minimize wait times.

Confirm appointments with patients via phone, email, or text message, and provide necessary instructions or reminders.

Customer Service:

Serve as the initial point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.

Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect in all interactions.

Handle difficult or sensitive situations, escalating issues to appropriate personnel when necessary.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

Previous experience in healthcare administration, patient registration, or customer service preferred.

Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance billing processes, and electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse populations.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.

Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry, with the ability to learn and navigate new software systems.

Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
