Job Family: ManufacturingReq ID: 424169The new Siemens Mobility facility in Lexington, NC, will be the first to offer maintenance services on a 200-acre site, allowing for future expansion. Building on some of the latest technologies in our Sacramento rolling stock and rail services factories, the new facility will include robotic welding, 3D printing, Virtual Reality weld training, and software tools to enhance our manufacturing process. We're excited to bring this new venture to the East Coast, and we'd love to have you join our team!Lead a department of direct employees in the assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, racks, wire harnesses, and other mechanical sub-assemblies for passenger rail cars. Ensure requirements are met for safety, cost, quality, and schedule.Key job responsibilities

Ensure a safe and balanced work environment. Ensure all team members are trained in, and observe safe work practices.

Plan production operations, define workflow, establish priorities and work sequences, and define production processes to meet project and interdepartmental requirements.

Meet project labor hour budgets.

Develop, monitor, and meet department budgets and business plans.

Establish, monitor, and adjust personnel plans to meet production demands.

Ensure development and documentation of best practice work standards and ensure all team members are accurately trained for their assigned tasks.

Drive lean manufacturing and 5S principles and initiatives to eliminate waste, and improve production efficiency and equipment performance.

Develop and implement measures to ensure product quality!

Manage individual employee performance issues, including but not limited to bi-annual performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, leave of absence, and disciplinary actions.

Ensure positive communication with the entire team regularly to keep them informed of work status, department performance, process changes, and company policies.

Develop and maintain appropriate critical metrics along with benchmarks and targets that provide a clear indication of department performance, performance trends, and potential problem areas.

Manage Sub Assembly schedule to satisfy the demands of multiple projects.

Work collaboratively with other department managers to ensure coordinated support of all production needs.

Complete other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education & experience

BS/BA in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least 5 years experience leading industrial OEM electrical assembly.

At least 10 years experience in electrical assembly operations for OEM equipment in a schedule-driven, project environment.

Demonstrates understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.

Management skills

Ability to lead and empower a direct labor workforce.

Develop relationships: Excellent mentor and team builder.

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Solve and resolve sophisticated problems.

Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal customers.

Technical skills

Knowledge of effective work processes associated with the assembly of electrical panels and racks, including device mounting, wire routing, and wire termination.

Knowledge of effective work processes associated with the production of complex wire harnesses.

Knowledge of reading electrical wiring schematics.

Knowledge of PLC programming.

Familiarity with various communication networks such as Ethernet, CAN Bus, etc.

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC, is $107,000 - $145,000, and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary.
