Position: Production Line Lead/Supervisor

Department: Production

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL 60007

Reports To: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Production Line Lead/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pizza assembly line, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage production personnel and optimize workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily production activities on the pizza assembly line.

Ensure all employees adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.

Monitor product quality and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Train, mentor, and evaluate line workers to maintain a high-performance team.

Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime and ensure operational efficiency.

Track production metrics and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and cost reduction.

Ensure proper inventory levels of raw materials and supplies are maintained.

Conduct routine inspections to ensure sanitation and cleanliness of the production area.

Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols, including HACCP guidelines.

Address production issues and troubleshoot problems to minimize waste and delays.

Maintain accurate production reports and documentation.

Ensure familiarity with lot numbers and proper tracking for traceability and compliance.

Communicate effectively with other departments, including quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).

Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in food manufacturing or production supervision.

Knowledge of food safety standards, including GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA regulations.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and production software.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.

Familiarity with lot numbers and proper tracking procedures.

Fluent in English and Spanish

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a cold food production environment.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Manual dexterity and the ability to operate machinery.
