A Wire and Cable Manufacturing Company Specializing in instrumentation, tray, thermocouple, HVAC, fire alarm, broadcast, communication, utility and custom-made wire products seeking reliable general laborers /machine operators that have worked in manufacturing environment. Person must be able to work a 12-Hours Shift and available to work on Saturday as well.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cabling Assistant will help the Cabling Operator who is responsible for the set-up, running, troubleshooting and inspection of products from any cabling machine. Ensures that the equipment is running as designed and works along with maintenance/supervisor, if necessary, in the troubleshooting of cabling equipment. Follows standard operating procedures as called out for in the operation of this equipment and have the ability to read and follow production routers and /or drawing in order to produce a quality product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator to review and confirm all necessary components of any given cable.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator to review and interpret routers and/or drawings of products to be manufacture.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator ensure that the lines are ready to run in a safe manner.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator locate all components of products to be manufacture.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator setup machines.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator run a sample form inspection.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator ensure that all requirements are met per the router/drawing.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator fill-out and document all pertinent information as required.

Cabling Assistant will help Cable Operator maintain good housekeeping practices in and around the work area.

KNOWLEDGE:

Will learn the background in the running of typical cable manufacturing equipment/processes

Will learn to possess knowledge of specific types of tooling required to manufacture cable as designed

Basic reading, writing and math skills

Understands the impact of deviations to specifications

Must be able to verbally communicate effectively

Must be proficient in the use of hand measuring equipment

Will learn to make decisions on whether or not to continue running a process line based upon product meeting, dimensional,

mechanical and electrical specifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 1-year of work experience in a manufacturing plant

H.S. Diploma or GED (This position requires reading, writing and math)

Understand the English language to a level of filling out all required documentation related to the position

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee operates within a plant environment and routinely uses various tools and operates various machines. The employee is exposed to vibration and loud continuous noise from operating machinery.

PHYICALLY DEMANDING:

While performing the essential functions of the job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk, use hands to handle, grasp and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crawl or squat as well as lift up to 50 pounds.

PAY RATE 18.00

WORK SCHEDULE: (12-HOURS SHIFT)

2nd Shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and available to work Saturday (8-hours)
