The job requires a Farm Manager couple to live on site and BENEFITS of the job include a very beautiful accommodation, 1200 square feet of living space with granite kitchen and bath with laundry, private bedroom, large great room, and back deck, high-speed internet, and use of a farm vehicle. Managers will follow a training protocol to learn to do most of the things we do Tree to Bag on-site Fruit Stand, and Farm Accommodations.

ORGANIC FARMING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. COUPLES ONLY NEED APPLY.

PRODUCTION KITCHEN: Manager Couple will learn the harvesting of all of the bounty from the trees, and how we make all our products. Duties include to learn about the picking, husking, cracking, sorting, washing, and dehydrating of our macadamia nuts. We are in full harvest season now and have racks of nuts waiting to be made into our products, and more out in the orchard. Pruning, harvesting, pulping, drying coffee. Then learn to make our chocolate macadamia nut butters, and our honey macnut butter and weighing, bagging, jarring, sealing and labeling our products to get them ready for the sale. We also have a 5 kilo coffee roaster, and to begin you would learn to weigh and bag and seal the coffee and perhaps later on, how to roast.

ORCHARD WORK: There are trees to be tended, pruned, and harvested on a daily or weekly basis. Cleaning under macadamia nut trees with rakes and shovels to prepare for the next harvest happens around now going on through July. Pruning of coffee and fruit trees as needed. Fence and fence gate repair as needed.

ANIMALS: Working with the sheep first to band and deworm them (which we have already done for this year) and take in the next harvest of sheep which is coming up at the end of April. We have 8 Big Boys that need to be rounded up to the truck to take in for the harvest at our local USDA facility in Hilo. We do this with as much love and respect for the animals as possible, and their meat is phenomenal. On a regular basis Sheep need to be fed a sheep block with trace minerals and calcium and make sure their water bins are always clean and full.

RENTALS: We have two rental units that we are just getting back and ready to open up within the next month. Managers are to advertise and respond to all requests for rentals, and handle all bookings, providing rental information (that will be provided to you), preparing the units for rental, welcoming guests and cleaning at check out (or supervising cleaners).

MARKETING/ADVERTISING: Manager couple will also be responsible for marketing of the farm products and farm rentals to increase internet sales. Managers will be provided with a working website and client list to work from. Eventually, over time, the Manager couple will take on handling of all internet orders and to box and ship them.

Our ideal candidates would have the required passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors, dirt, experience as organic farmers and a profound desire to live that lifestyle, to help supply our community with excellent high quality food products made from our Orchards, to create better health and well-being in the world. Hard working self-directed individuals who can learn and even improve upon what is learned is highly important, along with the ability to be supervised by the experienced farmers and develop love and connection for the spirit of this beautiful tropical sanctuary. Managers will have the opportunity to create new products and bring forward ideas for creative collaboration.

REMUNERATION: First and foremost our Farm Manager couple will enjoy the beauty, peace, and serenity of life in our orchards. Second, they will receive a beautiful living space and use of a car. Third, they will eat from the bounty of the land

and enjoy excellent organic, safe working conditions. Fourth, a percentage (to be determined) of the profits from the Farm and Rental business will be shared as a monthly salary. The better the farm business produces, the more our managers make. Opportunities to buy into the farm as a permanent partner will be considered.
