Intern – Clinical Informatics Scientist – Summer 2024You will play a fundamental role within the Clinical Medical Affairs team, supporting Image-Guided Therapy Devices (IGTD), and contributing significantly to enhance patient safety and quality. Your work will involve applying technologies to enhance healthcare practices.For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Colorado Springs, CO; San Diego,CA or Plymouth,MN.Your role:
Collaborate on a project to enhance patient care and care pathways through informatics;
Opportunity to work on transformative clinical evidence strategies at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare;
Explore cutting-edge concepts like data model design, clinical workflows, and interoperability;
Member of a dynamic group comprising clinical scientists and experts to create and iterate on data science solutions;
Participate in medical writing such as abstracts, manuscripts, presentations
You're the right fit if:
Studying towards Bachelor (upper division), Master, Doctorate University degree study in data science, computer science, informatics, computational biology;
Knowledge of advanced analytics and machine learning, programming languages, e.g. SQL, R, Python;
Familiarity with predictive modeling and analysis of large databases;
Familiarity with data abstraction techniques from healthcare EHR databases, aggregate data from various sources to construct streamlined data pipelines and integrate data from multiple platforms
Good technical communication and presentation skills;
Analytical thinker, ability to swap between the bigger picture and the details;
Self-starter, not afraid to look for information and reach out to new people;
Additional experience in one or more of the following preferred:
Basic knowledge of NLP
Big data analysis, cloud computing
Knowledge of data science tools, ML library
