Maintenance Lead

Overall Goal of Position:

This position is responsible for performing various tasks and duties that support production flow and optimization by oversight of the general maintenance of machines and equipment as well as acting as a leader to other maintenance team members, backup to maintenance management and help make OurRecipe@SauerBrands.

Job Summary:

Primary focus is to ensure the efficient availability of Plant assets, to assist maintenance management in matters concerning personnel and/or scheduling, and directing technicians. Position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Shift: M-F Days

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance Lead

o Maintain function and reliability of production equipment by inspections and improvements to the preventive maintenance program.

o Improve reliability of systems and equipment by identifying, recommending, and implementing changes needed.

o Direct maintenance technicians in their work.

o Demonstrates ability to coach/train others on specific technical tasks.

o Prepare shift maintenance schedules and allocate workload.

o Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance.

o Preparation of reports and data entry as required by the Maintenance manager.

o Participate in coordination and implementation of projects.

o Ensure adherence to quality, food, health, and safety regulations.

o Follows safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

o Provide scheduled and unscheduled/emergency repairs.

o Demonstrates initiative, motivation, self-reliance and requires minimal direction.

o Demonstrates ability to correctly “setup” and operate machinery, control, and adjust machine settings on all production lines.

o Demonstrates ability to read, understand, and interpret Verification Sheets (VS) and production/maintenance Work Orders.

o Recognizes when machinery is not operating at peak performance and communicates the condition to management.

o Assists management with interviewing and training of new hires as needed/requested.

o Recognizes variance from standards and addresses with QA and/or management.

o Ability to drive a powered industrial lift truck and maintain current license.

Education & Experience:

o Minimum high school diploma or GED required.

o Prior experience working in food manufacturing preferred.

o Bilingual English/Spanish helpful but not required.
