TITLE: SPECIAL PROJECTS PROGRAM COORDINATOR.

POSITION: TEMPORARY FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK)

COMPENSATION: $24-$26/HR DOE

LOCATION: 2012 PINE STREET, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94115

Agency/Program Description:

The Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) provides youth with the experiences, opportunities and services that prepare them to be healthy, productive members of the community who are able and emboldened to accomplish their dreams. JCYC Youth Workforce Programs does this by providing employment opportunities that enhance the lifelong employability, earning potential and development of program participants. The JCYC Youth Workforce Programs consists of some of the largest youth employment programs in San Francisco, and includes MYEEP, OFA, SF YouthWorks, Project Pull, OCII and SF STEM Academy, together providing subsidized employment experience as well as other learning activities to over nearly 3,000 San Francisco youth annually.

Position Summary:

The Special Projects Program Coordinator is a key team member who supports the logistical and administrative backbone for the JCYC Workforce Programs and enables the team to effectively and successfully execute programs that provide workforce opportunities and experiences to San Francisco’s youth. The Coordinator will supervise part-time program assistants in OFA and OCII programs, supporting data management and other administrative tasks. The Coordinator is a member of the JCYC Special Projects Workforce team and will report directly to the JCYC Workforce Special Projects Manager.

The candidate is also an avid user of technology.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support the efficient operation of each JCYC Workforce Program OCII and OFA;

Manage selective employers information and participant data, primarily using Salesforce.com and ADP Workforce Now platforms;

Foster relationships with host sites/mentors/supervisors

Supervise and coach part-time administrative staff and OCII fellows;

Communicate and support OCII leadership team

Communicate and support host sites/firms in the program

Review and support applicants and placements for OCII summer program

Review and submit invoices for payment;

Manage department equipment, logistics, and supplies;

Support youth payroll including answering questions from youth and supervisors.

Provide compassionate and friendly customer service;

Support agency initiatives including participating in advocacy initiatives prioritized by JCYC;

Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

Exceptional organization and time management skills;

Strong math, critical and analytical thinking skills;

High Excel proficiency;

Experience managing a database system(s);

Proven track record of providing high levels of customer service.

Desired Qualifications:

Degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or current college student in the Engineering and Architecture field.

Ability to multitask, take initiative, and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced setting;

Minimum 1 year of experience as a power user of Salesforce.com or equivalent platform;

Positive attitude;

Knowledge of workforce development;

Minimum 2 years work experience in administrative roles;

Strong verbal and written communication skills in working with diverse stakeholders;

Experience building professional relationships.
