Program Coordinator – Generalist

For over 25 years, this organization has been serving clients in Alameda County, CA. The Regional Resource Center (RRC) operated by the Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB) is a resource for low-income and underrepresented seniors and the refugee/immigrant communities covering Alameda, Oakland, San Leandro, San Lorenzo and Hayward. Our mission is to provide supportive services to seniors, refugees and immigrants while they are trying to become self-sufficient and integrate themselves into all aspects of American society. RRC/VACCEB provides a variety of supportive services, including food security, senior programming, information and assistance, education classes (ESL, Digital Literacy, Citizenship), health and wellness programming, advocacy work, and employment placement assistance. We are currently looking to hire a Program Coordinator to support our many programs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide program support to the Program Managers, as assigned, to assure program services are delivered and close-out reports are submitted on time to funders.

Perform education and outreach activities in connection with current contracts.

Perform client data entry, maintain and keeping current proper documentation in support of work

Assume leadership on assigned program service projects and work with other staff members to assure program deliverables are met on schedule and within budget.

Attend meetings as representative on or off site in connection with program service delivery, advocacy work, or as part of our outreach with partners and other non-profits.

Participate in advocacy or civic engagement projects as assigned.

Provide administrative support to programs, as assigned.

Qualifications:

3+ year of experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.

Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to provide both administrative and ‘hands on’ support for existing VACCEB programs.

Ability to work directly and indirectly with underserved communities; especially seniors, refugees and immigrants.

Demonstrated experience and skills in a similar role and successfully working within assigned deadlines and limited resources.

Ability to document program activities and clients accessing such activities in Client Management System (Salesforce).

Ability to use standard software (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google Drive for record-keeping.

Excellent Time and Attendance record (on-time and regularly Monday-Friday).

Ability to work professionally and calmly for sustained periods of time in a dynamic and often stressful environment.

Flexible, creative and adaptive even without clearly defined parameters.

Must be a self-starter and self-motivated and to be able to work without direct supervision productively.

Ability to pass a background check and possess an active CA driver's license.

Bi-lingual in English/Chinese-Cantonese or Spanish preferred
