Position: Independent Living Skills Coordinator
Program : Independent Living Services
You would work one-on-one with people with disabilities. You would help the
individuals attain their personal independence and community participation goals.
Duties include:
Assistance in Money management
Medical, dental appointment, and medication management
Instruction on basic cooking and meal preparation
Instructions and assistance on how to utilize public transportation
Assisting with, searching for and obtaining affordable housing
Assisting with obtaining and helping to maintain benefits such as Social Security,
Medi-Cal,
Medicare, etc.
Help with attaining community involvement and socialization goals
Instructions on assisting the individual to maintain a clean living environment
·Teaching the individual how to best respond to an emergency situations at home
and in the community.

Summary of Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities)
1. High School Diploma.
2. First Aid/CPR certification.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of interdisciplinary team.
4. Must be flexible to work assigned shifts with different clients
5. Pass background check/fingerprint clearance.
6. Physical activities require the ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift,
grasp, talk, hear, and repetitive motion of the wrist and hands.
7. Physical requirement: visual acuity and the ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs.
occasionally and up to 50 lbs.
8. Respectful and compassionate
9. Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
10. Experience with people with developmental challenges is an added advantage
11. Additional certification is an advantage.
