We are seeking dedicated and compassionate caregivers to join our support team for a young adult with profound, non-verbal autism. The client is joyful, energetic, and thrives with team members who are patient, consistent, and enjoy connecting through movement and shared activities. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, feel comfortable working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and be open to learning. Training and ongoing support will be provided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
About the Role:
Caregivers will work one-on-one with the client in both home and community settings, supporting daily activities, safety, and opportunities for meaningful engagement. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in behavioral intervention or a strong interest in neurodiversity and person-centered care.
Responsibilities Include:
Engaging the client in preferred activities such as jumping on the trampoline, going to the pool, playing basketball, and outings in the community
Community activities may include walking in local parks, shopping centers, and malls
Supporting communication using the client’s iPad-based AAC device
(The system is simple to use—no prior experience is required; training and guidance will be provided)
Assisting with transitions and daily routines
Driving the client to and from community-based activities
Documenting activities and observations as part of the support team
Ideal Candidate:
RBT-certified or trained in behavioral intervention preferred
Experience working with individuals with profound autism and limited verbal communication
Physically active, reliable, and comfortable with outdoor and movement-based activities
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle
Attuned, patient, and able to build rapport through shared connection
Collaborative and communicative with family and professionals
