Customer Service Representative

We are a family-owned and operated machine shop in the print industry. We service machinery mainly at customer locations around the Northern California region, and sell parts, supplies, and machinery via our web store. We are looking for qualified candidates interested in growing with our company, beginning mainly with customer service duties to include processing orders and shipments, administrative office work, eventually assisting with upkeep of our website, marketing, and potentially sales.

We value hard work, exceptional customer service, the ability to work independently as well as with others, excellent follow-through, initiative taking, and wearing many hats.

Duties:

Answer phones, take messages, communicate concisely with exceptional attention to detail;

Process orders in a timely way, juggling varying vendor and customer requirements;

Track orders and exhibit excellent follow-through;

Quote merchandise and follow up on quotes;

Schedule service calls;

Track orders, back orders, shipments;

Help problem-solve customer service issues;

Handle shipping/freight arrangements;

Focus on project-oriented work;

Perform data entry for our web store, updating prices and products;

Improve consistency in product marketing on our website;

Assist with marketing;

Eventually assist with the design of our web store;

File and maintain archives;

Run errands;

Purchase and keep track of stock;

Help with other general tasks including cleaning and upkeep as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

MS Office in particular Excel and Word and good typing skills required.

Familiarity with Quickbooks is a plus.

Higher education is valued.

Good employment references and solid work history. We will check references.

Bondable.

Good driving record.

Looking for candidates who are customer service oriented with a helpful attitude, who are receptive, and excellent at communicating especially over the phone and in writing, and who show excellent follow-through and attention to detail with solid organizational skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven atmosphere, juggling a variety of customer, vendor, and team member needs. When there is down-time, must be hard-working to continue to complete projects and tasks.

No regular weekend work needed. This is a full time in-person position, not to be performed remotely. Hours: 8:30 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
