Volunteer Coordinator & Administrative Assistant

The Volunteer Coordinator, Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the organization's mission by providing administrative and operational support. This position will recruit volunteers, build rapport, and create and implement training protocols to best serve AtoZ and our volunteers.This position involves managing office tasks, assisting with program coordination, and helping to create a welcoming and efficient environment for staff, students, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage volunteers

Recruit volunteers

Ensure that volunteers are trained

Retain volunteers, by ensuring a positive experience and creating an incentive program.

Foster relationships with volunteers, and community partners to enhance program engagement.

Assist with daily administrative tasks, including emails, scheduling, and correspondence.

Assist with scheduling classes, events, and meetings.

Manage office supplies and equipment.

Provide support for fundraising initiatives, including events, donor outreach, and donor mailings.

Handle bookkeeping tasks, including processing invoices, tracking donations, and managing budgets in collaboration with the finance team.

Promote AtoZ to raise awareness of programs and events within the community.

Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized office environment.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in administrative support, preferably in a non-profit environment.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with keen attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for culinary education and community service.

Proficiency in office software (Google Workspace) and familiarity with database management.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Skills:

Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Strong time management and prioritization skills.

Capacity to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

Enthusiasm for cooking and supporting educational programs.

Working Conditions:

In person with some remote work possible in a non-profit cooking school environment.

Some evening and weekend work may be required to support classes and events.

Some afterschool class assisting, when a volunteer position is unfilled.

Hourly rate and Benefits:

Competitive hourly rate based on experience.

Benefits include sick time off per California. In addition, may include time off, and opportunities for professional development.
