We are a small litigation law firm looking for a legal assistant/paralegal. The position will assist our office with various legal and administrative tasks such as drafting legal documents, arranging depositions/hearings/conferences, organizing documents, answering and directing telephone calls, maintaining the office calendar, as well as providing support to our attorneys with court filings and other duties. The applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and be familiar with Adobe Acrobat. Other technical skills are a plus, but not required.
Applicant must have experience working in the legal field — experience in employment or consumer class actions and general litigation is appreciated. Applicant should be adaptable as this is an important position that must be done accurately and according to specific rules and deadlines. We will train and provide the right candidate with the information to be successful, but the applicant must be a self-starter and have a strong sense of pride in doing a thorough and accurate job with attention to detail.
Our office is located in the Hillcrest/Bankers Hill area, near Balboa Park West.
Compensation is negotiable and based on experience.
