Description:
Growing law firm in Chula Vista, CA, is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and bilingual (English/Spanish) Legal Assistant to support our expanding practice. We handle a wide range of cases including personal injury, immigration, estate planning, and civil litigation.
This is an in-office position at our Chula Vista office – remote work is not available at this time.
Responsibilities:
Draft, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence
Assist with client intake, phone calls, and calendaring deadlines
Prepare immigration petitions, discovery responses, and probate documents
Maintain case files and client records (both physical and digital)
Assist with court filings, service of process, and communication with agencies
Handle basic billing and document organization
Translate documents and interpret as needed (English/Spanish)
Requirements:
At least 1–2 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role
Strong command of written and spoken English and Spanish
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Familiarity with California courts and immigration procedures is a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
Preferred but not required:
Experience in personal injury, probate, or immigration law
Tech-savvy – comfortable using Microsoft Office, Adobe, case management software, etc.
Schedule: Full-time preferred, part-time considered for the right candidate
Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience + performance-based bonuses
