Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to support our finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial records and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts, including bank statements, receivables, and payables.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Perform general ledger accounting and ensure timely closing of the books.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience in a non-profit or government organization is a plus.
