Description Are you an experienced Accounts Receivable professional with a knack for managing invoices and payments? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? Our client in the construction industry is looking for a motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team in the San Diego area. Key Responsibilities
Invoicing and Billing: Generate, review, and send invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project contracts and terms.
Collections: Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts; communicate with clients to resolve outstanding payments while maintaining professional relationships.
Reconciliations: Reconcile customer accounts and payments to ensure accurate records in the accounting system.
Payment Processing: Process incoming payments via various methods, including checks, ACH, and credit cards.
Construction-Specific Tasks: Work with construction contracts (such as AIA billing) and lien waivers, and track retainage payments and schedules.
Reporting: Prepare accounts receivable aging reports, monitor cash flow, and support financial reporting initiatives.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, clients, and internal teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
Requirements
Experience: 2-3 years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably in the construction industry or a similar project-based environment.
Education: Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred, but relevant work experience can substitute.
Software Skills: Proficiency with accounting systems (experience with Sage 300, QuickBooks, or construction industry-specific software is a plus) and intermediate knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with AIA billing, lien release practices, and construction payment processes is highly preferred.
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills (verbal and written), excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
