Job Purpose:

o Maintain a high level of patient satisfaction by providing an exemplary level of service to patients as well as a high level of assistance to the physician.

o Provide assistance with medical care, procedures, patient education, and other duties associated with maintaining a successful medical practice.

Duties:

o Maintain a tidy and stocked medical area.

o Maintain availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays.

o Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure.

o Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’

preference cards.

o Contribute to physician's effectiveness by setting up the patient room(s).

o Adhere to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the

procedure.

o Arrange instruments according to given procedure.

o Correctly use, care for, clean, and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.

o Handle equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety.

o Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

o Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating patient information.

o Assist in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during

procedure.

o Respond in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.

o Assist in storing and stocking supplies as directed.

o Demonstrate the organizational skills necessary to accurately file and retrieve patient records.

o Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information.

o Prioritize office tasks and the physician's requests in order of medical importance.

o Understand practice protocol by learning about and following policies and procedures.
