Job Description: The Bookkeeper is responsible for financial reports, accurate financial record keeping in Quickbooks, journal entries, and bookkeeping. We are a fast growing, small company seeking a reliable, organized, energetic and self-motivated bookkeeper. Candidates must possess the ability to work independently, confidentially and work well under pressure. The ideal candidate must be able to deal effectively with a variety of people and work in a fast-paced environment.
Renumeration and Hours:
The position is 10-20 hours per week. Work can be completed remotely except for LA-based candidates who may be required to complete work onsite. Pay is $30-40 per hour plus free classes, depending on experience. This is a P.T. employee, W2 position. Contractor status considered only if you have other clients. Main Responsibilities:
Categorizing transactions in Quickbooks
Preparing Quickbooks Reports including P&L, Budget to Actuals, Cashflow
Reconciling Bank Statements
Making Journal Entries
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Watching for excessive fees/unusual transactions/increased spending and report significant issues to management
Occasional assistance double checking EDD forms and setting up payroll tax accounts with state agencies outside of California
Occasional ad hoc analyses in excel for workers comp insurance audits and other reports as needed
Desired Qualifications: The bookkeeper candidate should have a BA degree in accounting, as well as a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Must have knowledge of GAAP
Proficient in QuickBooks Pro Online software
Must know how to make journal entries and code expenses, revenue, and transfers properly within QuickBooks
Proficient in MS Excel and Word, Knowledge of advanced formulas like Vlookups, Pivot Table desirable
Detailed oriented, highly organized and very reliable
Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
Ability to maintain confidentiality
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. in Accounting
3 - 5 years of bookkeeping experience required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to Multitask
If an LA-based applicant, must be willing to work onsite occasionally in City Terrace
