Accounts Payable Specialist (Great Plains)

Description As an AP Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, from invoice receipt to payment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. Your expertise in Great Plains will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations.Key Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices and expense reports accurately and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Perform coding and data entry of invoices into the Great Plains accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.

Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner to maintain positive vendor relationships.

Coordinate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and resolve invoice-related queries or disputes.

Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments, ensuring timely disbursement of funds to vendors.

Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and reporting, to support financial reporting requirements.

Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in accounts payable processes, recommending process improvements and efficiencies as appropriate.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or similar role, with expertise in Great Plains software.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to apply them in accounts payable processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software and ERP systems.

Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with vendors professionally.
