Job Description
As Grounds Crew member for Meadowbrook Country Club, you will perform moderately heavy manual labor in the care and maintenance of the golf course and clubhouse surrounds. may be required to perform minor equipment maintenance. Must be reliable with the ability to work in a team environment but also sustain viability as an individual. Our team starts before the sun rises which means you will too.
Requirements:
-Precision mow greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding landscapes
-Prepare, maintain and manicure greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, creeks, and ponds
-Cares for plants by preparing beds, planting, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and spraying
-Accurately plans, calculates, conducts, and calibrates fertilizer applications
-Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, and installs sprinkler systems and components
-Sets cups
-Sets tee markers
-Maintenance duties may involve the use of hand tools, weed eaters, fly mowers, mowing equipment, fertilizer spreaders, manually operated transmissions, excavators, basic math, communication, problem solving skills and a willingness to learn(no one ever started a job knowing everything and rarely finished one knowing less).
-Assist with various projects to improve the golf course.
-Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
-Inspect all machines and report malfunctions to Al, our mechanic.

Qualifications:
-High School diploma, GED or Equivalent
-Must have a valid driver's license(or be able to get to work 5 minutes early).
-Experience with irrigation and landscaping preferred but you'll learn.
-Able to interact positively with the patrons of Meadowbrook Country Club.
-Work outside for long periods of time and in all kinds of weather, performing tasks that require physical strength and endurance.
-Adjust to golf course tasks depending on daily operational needs.
-Work skillfully with your hands to do a variety of tasks.
-Ability to understand, follow and communicate written and verbal instructions.
-Availability to work weekends.
A typical day starts between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., ends between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Fridays we work 5 hours, the other 3, to make a 40 hour week, are on Saturday or Sunday. Your weekend day will alternate, Saturday one week and Sunday the following week. Overtime is offered occasionally but required during aerification on September 21st.
We have been cautious in our work environment throughout this pandemic. Our crew has been operating on a limited staff but as the grass starts to grow more rapidly, our essential duties have increased and continue to do so on a daily basis. We will continue to make it a safe work environment and ask that you respect all crew member's philosophies as this pandemic relates to them individually. We've got 150 acres to spread out on so that has been nice but we all come back to one central shop so I am currently asking that crew members mask up, wash their hands, and try to maintain the recommended 6' social distance when they enter the shop. We're all learning and growing and hopefully changing for the better through this pandemic. It hurts but it won't overcome us.

Salary: $12.00 to $16.00/hour DOE
