We boldly go.Job Summary:Trane Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II in La Crosse, WI. In this role, you will coordinate, organize, and supervise production process methods and engineering activities that enable the manufacture of HVAC centrifugal chillers. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which improve operations competitiveness.This role will be based on-site at our La Crosse facility and is considered safety-sensitive.Responsibilities:

Process ownership with responsibility for automated processes and controls in a product manufacturing environment (includes providing technical support to production as needed to meet or exceed customer requirements).

Utilize a standardized problem-solving approach to troubleshoot product and process failures and develop root cause solutions to prevent reoccurrence.

Drives engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including: PFMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Dynamic Control Plans (DCP), Lean Tools, Project Management and Simultaneous Engineering.

Manages, develops and improves manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.

Ensures all equipment meets OSHA compliant safety regulations.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional individuals and teams to build consensus and achieve best practice outcomes (includes participation in and occasionally leading of rapid improvement events as part of site’s Lean transformation journey).

Develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for, and as an integral part of, all new product introductions and product enhancement programs, using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM / DFA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly), FMEA, 3P (Production, Preparation Process), 7-Ways, and Lean Six Sigma Methodology.

Qualifications:

BS Engineering or Engineering Technologies degree required.

1-3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to quickly assess manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing.

Knowledge of basic design and manufacturing datum development and its effect in manufacturing processes.
