We boldly go.Job Summary : The engineering position is responsible for providing technical production support, leading projects, and developing processes for the manufacture of HVAC centrifugal chillers. A successful candidate will be self-motivated with well-developed problem solving and interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to lead teams, manage process improvements, and influence others in a cross-functional environment. This position is based out of our campus in La Crosse, WI and requires daily onsite presence.· Responsibilities: Develop and implement manufacturing processes for the manufacture of shells. Cutting, rolling, and forming of steel parts. Evaluate and implement innovative, cost effective, safe, manufacturing processes and techniques, which will improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing operations and business systems. Develop manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements and costs, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments, which facilitate the definition and specification of the manufacturing processes. Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Develop and implement manufacturing flows, workstation layouts and organization, and station controls, which optimize value added operations, operating costs, and product / process quality. Integrate closely with various functional team members collaborating while enhancing design for manufacturability and ease of integration to manufacturing facility. Project management knowledge and skills. Estimates the time and resources required to complete a project for self and cross-functional partners. Develops plan and process for viable project. Conduct process qualification activities to ensure delivered processes meet required specifications. Create required documentation for new processes and provide or support training of production associates. Utilize a standardized problem-solving approach to troubleshoot product and process failures and develop root cause solutions to prevent reoccurrences through the final manufacturing validation process.Qualifications:· Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering discipline) and 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience required.· HVAC or heavy industrial environment preferred.· 1-2 years of experience with cutting/forming/rolling plate steel material.Key Competencies: Experience with design for manufacturing and design for automation a plus. Automation integration experience. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools and methodology. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization is required. Must be able to speak and write clearly and concisely. Possession of initiative to further develop technical skills, interpersonal skills and career path.
