Control Solutions Northwest, Inc. (CSN) is a licensed electrical contractor and full-service HVAC controls contractor providing engineering, installation and service of Schneider Electric direct digital control (DDC) products in the new construction and renovation industry. Additionally, CSN provides products and services for all aspects of the commercial building management industry including HVAC mechanical and control system service, Life Safety, Controlled Access and CCTV installation, sales and service. We are currently seeking a team manager to join our organization as our Service Department Manager.

The ideal candidate is a top performer who brings high levels of energy and enthusiasm. The ideal background for this role will be a blend of HVAC technical knowledge, professional sales and the management experience to provide the department leadership. In addition, this person should be very familiar with common business management practices such as estimating, budgeting and proposal writing. Finally this role will include leadership duties ranging from supporting some of the most highly experienced technicians in our trade to helping the newest recruits that are seeking a new career in the diverse and exciting field of Electrical, HVAC, DDC Controls and Life Safety.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

The Service Manager works with other key department managers to support the overall operation and management of the office. Maintain budgeted profitability and customer satisfaction in the service business markets working with and supporting the dedicated Service Coordinator, Service technicians and Service Sales team. From an operations role the service manager will oversee and support all facets of department operations and department personnel. They will work to assure the profitable operation of the service department including the efficient coordination and delivery of service, over site and management of renovation projects, regular job site visits to discuss technical solutions with field technicians. Working directly with building managers and owners developing projects, writing proposals and closing sales. A complete job description will be provided at time of interview for complete review of each area of responsibility.

Qualifications and Skills:

A minimum of three years’ experience in HVAC Service Management. This involves knowledge of heating, cooling and ventilation mechanical systems serving commercial and institutional buildings.

Some knowledge of DDC Controls.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused work environment; ability to balance workload with technicians and customer’s needs.

Excellent computer skills (Windows, Explorer, Outlook, Word, Excel).

Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills.

Mechanical aptitude with organizational and analytical and skills.

Ability to explain technical information to non-technical individuals.

Willing and able to travel, including overnights periodically as required for service sales.

Able to work varying hours

Ability to multi-task in a fast field environment

Must possess valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record

Be capable of traveling for business duties and training within the United States.

Experience in the following areas is beneficial but not required:

HVAC or DDC Manufacturers Training

Management Training

Sale Training

Experience with security systems, video access systems, fire alarm systems and cameras.

Experience in troubleshooting mechanical systems and low voltage control systems.
