OXARC has been providing welding and industrial supplies, as well as, medical and specialty gases since 1968. OXARC is headquartered in Spokane, Washington with 21 stores in WA, ID and OR.

Job Summary: Working closely with the Safety Team to develop and maintain safety polices, standards and programs for the company. Ongoing review of positions and safety functions throughout the company to ensure the programs developed are aligned with current operations. Overseas and delivers safety related education to employees and supervisors. Facilitates large training and one on one training to ensure goals and programs are adhered. Maintains safety standards and documentation to remain in compliance, working with state and federal regulations. Maintains all training records for the company.

Duties include:

Lead, manage and hold employees accountable; build the capabilities of a driven and diverse team to develop and lead a safety driven culture.

Manage, write and develop safety policies and procedures (Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)) Safety specific job functions.

Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.

Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.

Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.

Develops and maintain documentation/filing system for company training and related needs.

Facilitate and assist in training internal employees and supervisors.

Develop, Train and enforce company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

Monitors compliance with safety procedures.

Other duties assigned.

Requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred.

Five years of related experience.

2 years management or supervisory experience.

Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or similar discipline or at least two years of safety experience or combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of hazardous materials rules and regulations.

Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

Ability to travel 25% of the time.

A working knowledge of safety principles and techniques.

Ability to work independently, establish priorities and accomplish objectives with minimal supervision.

Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.

Must be organized, have good reasoning skills, and time management skills.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet use

Drug screen and background check required.

Salary Range: The salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position which is $85,000 -$95,000.00 /annually-DOE (depending on experience.)

Paid time off includes 8 paid holidays per year, vacation is prorated based on hire date and employees are eligible to use vacation effective January after hire date, sick leave accrues at 1 hour for every 40 worked, jury duty (up to 30 days), and bereavement leave. Clothing wear out/allowance program. Voluntary benefit options include life, and AD&D insurance. Employees are eligible for most benefits on the first of the month following 90 days of employment. However, some benefits have different qualifying periods. Medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance is effective on the 90th day of employment.
