As a part of a management team, this role supports the Thrift Store Manager or her designee of the Edmonds Senior Center (ESC) dba Edmonds Waterfront Center, Thrift Store. The Assistant manager will support building a customer service culture and sharing the ECS Thrift Store business practices and procedures. Hours for this position are flexible and additional work hours are available.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Recruit and train volunteers to walk the floor, donation procedures, and assigning volunteers to specific departments.
Train volunteers to run the cash register and provide an understanding of policies concerning sales, coupons, promotional calendar, etc.
Be available to open/close the ESC Thrift Store.
Conducts annual review of pricing structure.
Assist in building a customer service culture that projects a welcoming, friendly, and helpful attitude to customers and vendors. Provide training that engages and inspires all the team members.
Curate store window and showcase products with an eye to special occasions, events, holidays, and season.
Maintain and enhance ESC Thrift Store pricing, donation guidelines and floor presentation.
Support the intergenerational programs with Edmonds-Woodway High School and Edmonds Community College.
Keep products moving by evaluating items for clearance racks.
Be familiar with the banking procedures and business guidelines of the ESC Thrift Store.
Enthusiastically support the mission of the ESC Thrift Store Edmonds Waterfront Center
Hours will be based on store needs.
Other duties as assigned.
